Paradox Maya Exporter

Paradox has released an official Maya exporter which opens up easy and officially supported 3D modelling in their games, if anyone has any experience with using Maya and 3D modelling programs then please let me know so we can get in contact, as having some custom 3D models for the mod would be absolutely amazing.
The exporter is free to download for anyone with a Paradox account and works with HoI4 and Stellaris fully (when they are released) and is partially compatible with EU4 and CK2 to make unit models. For more details read the post I linked to.
If anyone feels like messing around with it in a test before posting here then this is the official paradox guide for using the exporter (note that Photoshop is not necessary, alternatives like GIMP work as long as you can export to a .dds)

Thanks a lot,

I don't think you're fully aware with what maya is.

The exporter is a script, that transforms a file so that it is readable between maya or the clausewitz engine (and vice versa). Maya is a 3D modelling program popular with the gaming industry, though there are many alternatives. This script will only make the file readable for maya. It will not work with any other 3D modelling program.

2D applications such as PS and GIMP will be of zero use with this script.

Read their guide, it makes mention of gimp or photoshop to design some of the stuff.
As for knowing what maya is yeah no clue so I kept it vague enough in my post to roughly try and wing it lol

The 2D app will be of use for "skinning" the 3D model once it's complete.

We will if there is someone who is good at making 3D models

Could this be used to create portraits too?

You don't need anything special to make portraits.

I can probably whip up some models in maya. I have no idea how to actually implement anything, but I'd be willing to provide the maya file so you can incorporate it into the mod. I just need to know what custom models would be needed?
