No matter what I do, I can't get the checksum to match up.

For specific technical issues and questions.

No matter what I do, I can't get the checksum to match up.

Hi everyone, I run CKII through Steam on Mac OSX.

I downloaded the zipped mod file, unpacked it.

I added the .mod and the GoT folder into my mod folder.

I created a new folder named "A Game of Thrones" in my Paradox/CKII/ folder.

Now, when I start the game I get the checksum ETWM, whereas the mod calls for NSUM.

I get the checksum warning, but I can begin the game, appoint councilors, etc., but the second I unpause it crashes.

I have zero submods and no other changes to anything in my gamefiles.

I have verified the game files. I have restarted steam.

Can anyone help?

The problem is with the .zip file, which contains a different events\scenario_events.txt file to the one in the Windows installer version. Only the AGOT bookmark should be affected, though, and your crashes are probably unrelated.

Do have any any idea what would cause the crashes?

Seems like a different fix entirely. That's getting passed a certain date. I just crash no matter what.

I know, it's not a perfect match for your problem. In the absence of any better ideas, though, it seems worth a try.
