Changes to seduction in 1.5?

PostPosted by laterani » Sun Jul 16, 2017 11:38

Have there been any large changes to seduction in 1.5? I've played about a 100 years, and seen a vast number of "the Unchaste" and "the Unfaithful" among both lords, ladys and landless characters. Any quick fix on how to reduce both the occurrence of AI adultery and the triggering of the nicknames?

If you want to tone it down go to:

Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\A Game of Thrones\common\objectives

open 00_focuses.txt in Notepad++

Scroll down to focus_seduction [it's the second focus, line 195], find

# AI Pick chance
chance = {
factor = 50

and change that to something else. Putting it at 0 will turn it off for AI.

Thank you :)

The 00_focuses.txt seems to be no longer in use, as all it's containing is the text "#OBSOLETE".

If I adjust down the chance in the spoiler below, found in 00_ambitions.txt in the same loactions, will that have the same effect?

Hmm... my 00_focuses... does not have ##OBSOLETE? :P

As for the find lover ambition event - I'm not 100% on how it works but I believe it's localized to "Fall in Love" in-game which is a little different and most often seems to lead to falling in love with your spouse or finding a lover while hunting/feasting, so the chances are far slimmer already to lead to the adultery of the seduction focus...

Edit - it looks like you opened 00_objectives and not 00_focuses on accident.

Seems I did indeed! I've changed it from 50 to 10, and I'll see if that has a noticeable effect. Thank you! :)

Quick follow-up to this. I edited the chance factor to 0, and the 00_focuses.txt says "Note: if 'chance' evaluates to 0, an AI character will also abandon the focus".

Yet in my game a rather large amount of characters still persists with the seduction focus. Is this as intended or the symptom of something else that might be wrong? Not sure if it would require a fresh game (i.e. not a save) to take effect.

I'm fairly certain it won't affect pre-existing saves, though I've never tried. Are new characters picking it, or is it just characters that had already chosen it before editing the file?

I actually seems that it is just older characters that are maintaining the focus, rather than new characters picking it after the edit. I'll let more time pass to see if there is an effect :)
