Everyone is allied to everyone else

PostPosted by LevBronstein » Sat Jul 22, 2017 11:57

Basically the title. Since installing the new version everyone eventually ends up allied to everyone, meaning that attacking anyone gives you a -50 prestige, and you can call everyone to arms.

It's especially annoying when trying to revoke titles or legally imprison traitorous vassals because it means *every single vassal* joins the rebellion, even ones that like you and hate the rebels.

Anyone know of a fix for it?

Restart. It comes and goes randomly but a restart usually does the trick.

In my game everyone also becomes allies. But it doesn't look like that you can invite these not true allies to war. At least I can't invite. Plus they aren't shown in *PACTs* window.
After restarting game it looks like everything is fine, but few weeks later world get allied again.
I'd say the main problem is that if you want to start a war w/ somebody, you need to have 50 prestige. :)
Well, for player would be main problem prestige, but now I started wondering, does the AI can attack their not true allies even they just loose 50 prestige..? :) I'll trying playing more and see how things goes. :}
Because I restarted game again few times, so i could start war w/o loosing prestige, so once it took a year or smth like that till the world become allied again. :o

P.S. I'm playing shattered world to counties. :)

Yeah, I tried restarting it and it works but for literally less than a minute. Everyone just ends up allied to everyone almost instantaneously.

This has happened on numerous play throughs as well.

Is it? Because I've never had it happen in vanilla, or in previous versions of this mod, but since the update it happens to every single playthrough I have and it isn't fixed by re-starting.

Same problem. And it also isn't a vanilla bug, unless it was caused by a recent vanilla patch.

I've done some research and this bug was supposedly fixed in vanilla around 2.4.

So while it is technically correct that this is a vanilla bug, why is it happening in the AGOT mod now?

Please help us. The mod is unplayable for me, this happens like clockwork.

3 complete reinstalls hasn't helped.

If there's something obvious we need to be doing, please tell us.

Thank you.

Still, same here!

The issue remains with ALL my games as well. (no sub mods, right checksum)

It does go away when I restart but it comes back on after a few months.

After this last version it became more stable, with fewer crashes but this bug is still messing up my games.

It would be greatly appriciated if it get fixed. Let hope with the next version it wont show up. (sorry for the English)!

Can we please get the admins to acknowledge this?

If you guys can't fix it, then I understand. But there is a group of us who can't play the mod. Unless it is fixed 'accidentally' in the next patch, we could be conceivably screwed for a long time.

Sure this was a 'vanilla bag'. But it was fixed and doesn't seem to be happening except in ck2 agot.

I just don't understand how some of us get it every game and yet it doesn't happen at all to others.

Not trying to be rude. But this is so frustrating.

I also haven't been able to reproduce this in recent vanilla versions, while I do sometimes see it in the mod. That doesn't mean it's not a vanilla bug, though.

You get it but not consistently? Do you notice anything that seems to cause it/make it worse?

Most of the people who've brought it up seem to be like me and get it every game.

I'm afraid I haven't noticed any patterns in when it occurs, and for me at least restarting and reloading the save fixes it (and keeps it fixed).

I figured out what the vanilla bug is and reported it to Paradox. Hopefully this will be fixed.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately saving and reloading only fixes it for a month at best.

Thank you so much! If you have figured out the cause then hopefully things can get fixed in time.

I checked your bug report. That seems like a really plausible cause.

What I don't understand is, why is it effecting some of us and not others? If it's a problem with add_alliance then shouldn't everyone be effected relatively the same?

That puzzles me too. Perhaps the vanilla add_alliance issue itself only affects some people for some reason? It's definitely real, though. By controlling when add_alliance gets used, I could trigger the bug at will with 100% consistency (in vanilla too, not just AGOT).

That is awesome, thanks for your great work.

I wonder how many events use add_alliance. Maybe I can have a look and there will be a way to play around this in the short term.
