About multiplayer - how to not crash?

PostPosted by Karvaly » Fri Aug 11, 2017 19:14

Naively tried playing version 1.5 multiplayer with 5 friends, we kept crashing and trying different things for over an hour. Now after some reading here my impression is that we should use either version 0.9 of the mod or the Westeros-only submod for version 1.4.1

What I would like to ask is, what is the best way to ensure that we encounter the least amount of crashes? Obviously playing with the newest version would be the best, but that seems impossible. Does the Westeros-only submod fix this problem? If so, where can we download the 1.4.1 version? Or is 0.9 the best option? I guess that we need to delete the current version of the mod if we use a different one and also use an earlier version of the base game itself. Could someone give a guide to us?

Thank you in advance.

For whatever version of the mod you want to use you must also backdate your CK2 using the steam beta function. Right click CK2, preferences, betas, from the dropdown select the appropriate version for whatever version of the mod you are going to use.

Older pre-Essos versions of the mod are more stable as no Essos and any of their mechanics etc. But if you do use the modern versions things can still be fine just make sure to use Westeros Only and try to avoid Dragons. To download Westeros Only go to its submod page, I don't think there is a link to older versions of it unfortunately.
