Century of Blood Republic Question

PostPosted by DominusNovus » Tue Sep 05, 2017 22:39

I want to start a new freehold with Aurion in the Century of Blood.

I'm totally willing to console this, but I keep on getting errors when I try 'set_government merchant_republic_government 50012300'

Can anyone advise a way to make this work?

What title/s are you holding that you are trying to change to a republic?
Smart and dumb are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Stark is born the gods flip a coin . . . and it always seems to land on dumb.

Tried both when he was leading a host, and when he was Emperor of New Valyria.

I came up with a work around, I just console'd the event for Aegon forming a freehold, and that did the trick.

To be a merchant republic you have to be at least duke tier and your capital barony needs to be a city. So you won't be able to have a landless merchant republic host title. When you're holding New Valyria just make sure that whatever province you have taken as your capital has a city barony as it's capital or at the least that you are only holding the city barony within it. If the capital s a castle and you own it, you will be feudal.
