All casus belli cause empire-level war?

PostPosted by Godofmosquitos » Fri Sep 29, 2017 22:21

As the title says. Basically, when I have The Iron Throne, regardless of who I declare war on, the whole empire collapses into individual factions which then have the decide upon whether to support me. I could be declaring a war of liberation on New Ghis. Instantly, that is an empire-level war. Is it really by design that all wars cause empires to fracture, as if in the middle of a civil war? What are those ridiculous levy sizes worth, then?

Oh yeah. Had this same exact question when I started the mod. It's called the, "Mega-Wars System" or sumn like that. I THINK, you can turn it off when you're setting up the rules.
But, I think it's a bit more realistic with it on, cause then, a vassal can basically go, "fudge this guy." and sit down and ignore you, even if they're your most powerful vassal. THEN, if you're losing, they can betray you.
Actually happened once when I declared war on the Iron Throne, the Iron Isles rallied behind me.
But yes, it is the design. sorry about the rambling.

Well, it sucks a bit that it only happens on empire level. As in all the other factions which are just kingdoms don't have this. Now, it's taken me forever to take the Iron Throne. So... Where in the save file is it that I turn this rule off again? :S

Ah - found it. Added a rule, and then manually deleted all the mega-war opinion entries in the save file. Took forever :)

Doesn't seem to work. When I go to war, the empire is not split up, but I cannot raise any vassals :/ Think I might have to start over.

Might have to. . . Just make sure to set it when you're setting up the game rules before starting. Instead of editing the save file.

Ok - I now started a whole new game. Didn't help :S Even if the empire-level wars are disabled at the beginning of the game, whenever I enter conflict, I cannot call on my vassals :/

Edit: I solved this. I have to read descriptions more carefully. My bad :)

Try to enforce maximum crown authority. This disables megawars for your realm.
