I'd make a note of some of the changes I made, but need an invite to the Version spreadsheet... although it looks fairly unused.

Haha yea it is kinda unused. I wanted to use it but I kinda always forget to. maybe we really should switch to subversion. We could also add subversion additionally so you can both upload files to dropbox (team folder) and to the current build in subversion.
I could setup a subversion for us if you guys agree.

Every time I see "a new file has been added to dropbox" popup I smile a little.

Why not Try out SVN the Devs of 1257 (M&B) they Use it also with a combination of Dropbox i know it may be too much for you guys for you guys to do for just a mod. 1257 uses SVN to update the Test build of there mod so the testers cant accidentlty (me) delete some files. Dropbox is a good program for sharing files and such but SVN is probably a better chance of less accidents (yet again sorry).

Don't use suspicious cloud services as Dropbox which are also technically inferior as SVN or other centralized services.

Use github instead!

Sorry to intrude, but I thought it was best to ask publically: I was wondering if people not associated with the project would be allowed read-access to the repository / shared folder.

No, we had ppl maliciously deleting stuff, so we became reluctant assholes.

Why are you not using github? It allows easy collaboration for multiple people, has free hosting, and allows you to keep control over the whole thing. As a bonus they just now released a new and easy to use windows client.

have you tried running the Dropbox.exe file i had that problem and that sorted it if it doesn't

run task manager, end dropbox processes, start it up again, this also might help

Its the easiest... other programs have more features but are more "complex", and we want to be as accessible as we can...

Dropbox is for the team. If you're not on the team then you're not getting on the Dropbox.
