See, the thing with going this way is that those collors don't really fit the levels, in my opinion. The different levels are called [failed/botched/standard/impressive/legendary] respectively. While gold (i.e. 1st place) goes with legendary alright, bronze (i.e. 3rd place) does not fit with failed or bothced. If you recive the bronze medal in something, you've beaten most of the comepetition and recieved third place.
Moreover, bronze, silver, and gold just don't seem to fit a bell curve well. A general with 10 martial will have a 46% of using a stadard tactic. this means if we used the metallic color system, silver (i.e. 2nd place) would be by far the most shown tactic. That just doesn't make sense to me.
That's just my opinion anyways. The only reason I'm commenting on this at all is because I was in charge of performance tracking at my old job, and my boss couldn't be troubled to actually look at the numbers, so I have some experience using graphics to represent data.
