Add portrait pack

Is there an easy way to replace certain GOT mod race portraits with the DLC portraits?
I was wanting to have the Iron Born use the Russian Portraits, The Northmen use the Norse portraits, and have the Riverlanders use the Celtic Portraits.

In common\cultures folder there are culture files.
For Ironborn replace line "graphical_culture = ironborngfx" (5th line) with "graphical_culture = easternslavicgfx" in ironborn.txt file.
For Riverlanders replace "graphical_culture = englishgfx" (4th line) with "graphical_culture = celticgfx" in andal.txt file.
And for Northmen replace "graphical_culture = northmangfx" (5th line) with "graphical_culture = norsegfx" in first_men.txt file

Now, will it be that easy to change High Valyrian and West Valyrian to Celts but with the Valyrian eye and hair option?
I know that it is possible to mix and match hair and faces, I'm just not sure where to start. Any tutorials that you are aware of?

Look in the A Game of Thrones/common/cultures files and find one of the cultures that currently uses a DLC portrait pack if available (Jogos Nhai, N'Ghai, Ibbenese, Summer Islander, Basilisk Islander). Simply copy the way it is setup for the culuture/DLC pack you wish to implement.
Smart and dumb are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Stark is born the gods flip a coin . . . and it always seems to land on dumb.

Weirdly enough, the celticgfx isn't working to replace the riverlands or any graphical_cultural nature. easternslavicgfx & norsegfx will work when you place them, but celtic doesn't work at all. I've been using the 0.7 version of the mod, and my game is up to date and I do have the dlc celtic portrait pack and I don't have any mods that should modify the culture . If someone could help me figure out if I'm mistyping it or if it's under a different name, I'd very much appreciate it. I want to make the Tully's look Celtic really badly

There is a reason celtic isn't working... Here is why

Open the following file: A Game of Thrones/common/graphicalculturetypes/00_graphicalculturetype.txt

At the bottom insert this
Code: Select all
celticgfx = {
   skin_tone = 0
}

Save...

It now should be working just fine, they forgot to put the celticgfx into the graphicalculturetype file haha. All the other ones are their though which is why they were working.

Code: Select all
   portraitType = {
      name = "PORTRAIT_stonedornishgfx_male"
      effectFile = "gfx/FX/portrait.lua"
      layer = { # GFX_TYPE:[d|p]INDEX:COLOR_LINK:DONT_REFRESH_IF_VALID:CULTURE_INDEX
         "GFX_character_background:p0"
         "GFX_saltdornish_male_clothes_behind:p3:c0"
         "GFX_saltdornish_male_headgear_behind:p5:c1"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_hair_behind:p1:h:y"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_beard_behind:p4:h:y"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_base:p2"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_neck:d0"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_cheeks:d4"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_chin:d1"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_mouth:d2"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_eyes:d6"
         "GFX_character_scars:p7:y"
         "GFX_character_reddots:p8"
         "GFX_character_boils:p9"
         "GFX_character_blinded_eyes:p10"
         "GFX_saltdornish_male_clothes:p3:c2"
         "GFX_empty:p5:c3"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_beard:p4:h:y"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_nose:d3"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_ear:d7"
         "GFX_stonedornish_male_hair:p1:h:y"
         "GFX_empty:p3:c4"
         "GFX_saltdornish_male_headgear:p5:c5"
         "GFX_character_imprisoned:p6"
      }

These five lines are the important ones.
"GFX_saltdornish_male_clothes_behind:p3:c0"
"GFX_saltdornish_male_headgear_behind:p5:c1"
"GFX_saltdornish_male_headgear:p5:c5"
"GFX_empty:p5:c3"
"GFX_saltdornish_male_clothes:p3:c2"

Change those to look like.
"GFX_persian_male_clothes_behind:p3:c0"
"GFX_persian_male_headgear_behind:p5:c1"
"GFX_persian_male_headgear:p5:c5"
"GFX_persian_male_clothes_infront:p5:c3"
"GFX_persian_male_clothes:p3:c2"

If that is how you did it, look in the sprites folder.

Clothes = 18 slots, headgear = 15 slots. Check the persian ones to make sure they are set to that.

After you've checked that let me know.

Open up portrait_sprites.gfx and look to make sure yours match the following.

Clothes 18 Frames
Headgear 15 Frames

These numbers are definitely the correct ones for the Persian set.

Code: Select all
spriteType = {
      name = "GFX_persian_male_headgear_behind"
      texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\persian_male\\persian_male_headgear_behind.dds"
      noOfFrames = 15
      norefcount = yes
      can_be_lowres = yes
   }

   spriteType = {
      name = "GFX_persian_male_headgear"
      texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\persian_male\\persian_male_headgear.dds"
      noOfFrames = 15
      norefcount = yes
      can_be_lowres = yes
   }

   spriteType = {
      name = "GFX_persian_male_clothes_behind"
      texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\persian_male\\persian_male_clothes_behind.dds"
      noOfFrames = 18
      norefcount = yes
      can_be_lowres = yes
   }

   spriteType = {
      name = "GFX_persian_male_clothes"
      texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\persian_male\\persian_male_clothes.dds"
      noOfFrames = 18
      norefcount = yes
      can_be_lowres = yes
   }

   spriteType = {
      name = "GFX_persian_male_clothes_infront"
      texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\persian_male\\persian_male_clothes_infront.dds"
      noOfFrames = 18
      norefcount = yes
      can_be_lowres = yes
   }

Yea doubly checked and that is exactly what I have it as. If I turn stonedornish into turkish there is no problem, seems to just be persian that goes all wonky.

With the persian portraits aswell? Is there a way I could use the persian people and use maybe the turkish clothing on them or something?

Persian People..... what?

The only things the Persian set has are: Beards, Clothes, Headgear. You'd have some empty people lol.

lol. like the persian ethnicity with the turkish culture. So they are using the persian like faces, hair. and all but the turkish clothes. When I replace the stonedornish with persian their clothing is all wonky but if im ingame and convert to my liege culture, so like im a stonedornish and i convert to salt dornish the clothes are now salt dornish which I have as Turkish since i changed salt and stone dornish to turkish. Sorry If I am explaining this odd haha.
