See, you have decent reasons for having your own, you wanted more control. Why didn't you think about that before asking why someone else would want to form their own group rather than join yours?

Was never about control, it was about having a specific group for MP. There is a very popular MP group out there already, why start his own when he has yet to gain a single member for the exact same group? Difference between our groups and his was that we started our own, made rules based on experiences that we had rather than rip them from another group. There are specific reasons behind every rule.

Really? What about this.

jbutton169 wrote:Hard to organise games when the mod devs won't make anyone mods or admins that actually organise MP games. We used to try and do it there but it was just dreadful so we made our own specifically for MP.

Seems to be a control issue that lead to your group.

Well given what I've seen from you in this thread, I wouldn't fault anyone for not wanting to be party to anything you are involved in let alone in control of.

And you know that they don't have any mp experience to judge from? I like quotes, when I come across a conversation where my experience tells me to say something I often use a quote since someone said it better than I feel I could.

To re-iterate what blackninja said, probably best this argument stops here.

To clarify, as far as we're concerned anyone is free to setup a MP group if they wish, with whatever rules. No-one has a copyright on steam MP rules.

Well, considering our group has been taking time to get those rules set up, I'd say it's a dickmove to just grab it from us.

And I asked him kindly to write his own rules because of that.

Most of the rules really are common sense not some godly creation, and if he chooses not to make his own then that is his prerogative

I would love to see that as a court case, just the reaction on a judge's face xD

Why is this a sticky if it hasn't been updated since 2013?
The gold cloak drew a shortsword. “Here’s your law.”
Yoren looked at the blade. “That’s no law, just a sword. Happens I got one too.”

Mainly because nobody bothered to unsticky it, also moderator edits don't show that a post has been edited as you can see cause I just added your group to the post yet it does not say it has been edited.

Remove these dead groups while you're at it.

Steam Group Ran By The Usurper,
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ck2gotmp

Group by Vahir
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/VahirsCk2GoTMP

Group by CaptainRavioli
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CK2-AGoTMP/

Hell even the "official" group is dead.

Happy multiplayering

I swear those are the exact same rules as the other multiplayer group

They are. I used them as a template which I will build upon. Right now they are the same but I'll add on to them. I figured the other group's rules are a given in any CK2:MP RP game
