The Reach

Anything Reach related can be posted here, suggestions or otherwise. Here is a few pictures of the progress so far:

This is the setup as it will be at the start of Robert's Rebellion:

This is the de jure duchy setup:

And house Tyrell, and yes I know Victaria is a guy atm :D

At the moment House Tyrell can only muster 4000 troops from the Reach, it shall have to be adjusted :D

Hey knuckey, please redownload your history\characters\reach.txt file from the test build (or fix it if you have done any further changes since the last version you uploaded). Sunspear and I just detected a pretty nasty bug with the Fossoways. Some of them had wonky death dates that didn't fit with their own "time block" and were causing crashes. Specifically, they were like this:

8115.1.1={
death="8215.1.1"
}

When these two dates don't match, ugly things happen.

By the way, now that we are talking about the Fossoways, shouldn't the Fossoways of New Barrel and the Fossoways of Cider Hall belong to the same dynasty? Only, from different branches, so that it will be unlikely for ones to inherit the others. That's what I did with the Flints in the North.

The two Fossoways do have distinct emblems "The red apples" and "the green apples" as referred to in Dunk and Egg and in the main books, so you could argue for a significant split, though I'm fine either way.

We could use these as the flags of their holdings.

Sorry :D So are these problems fixed or shall I look through the file?

About the Fossoways, I did consider putting them in the same dynasty but I went for separate ones because of their different COAs. I have made the two dynasties related (splitting about 70 years before) so if one dies out the other could possibly inherit. I suppose we can see what others think.

I fixed it in the reach.txt in the main mod folders, but not in the one from your Team folder. You can just get it from there, I made sure I used your last version (unless you added anything else after uploading the one in your Team folder). I just warned you about it to prevent the possibility that you might update it with a new version and unknowingly bring the bug back :)

Remember the Redwyne have to be really rich, Olenna Redwyne The Queen of throns is the Reason the Tyrells are the second Richest family, so actually the Redwynes are the second richest family.

They are pretty minted, the Arbor has seven holdings most of which are quite high tier towns. It's also a one province duchy so the Redwynes have appropiate prestige/standing.

Is there a reason that the Reach uses primogeniture, and almost everyone else has gavelkind?

Just in regards to the Hightowers of Oldtown, Leyton and Gerold's father (The White Bull is Leytons uncle as you no doubt will know but I can understand the reason why his been made a brother.) has no name (I know he's a placeholder but it just reads Lord I Hightower on the family tree.)

He's an unknown Hightower (no lore :\) however his father and Leyton's grandfather would be Ser Abelar Hightower. From Dunk and Egg. He was the heir of Hightower in Daeron II's time.

Abelar

1st son Unknown (Any reach name, maybe some Hightower names of lore. Quenten, Otto etc?) 2nd son Gerold

Leyton

His brood.

Of course its a minor thing, and their are more important issues but its just sometime to add more polish to this already great mod.

Plus its a Reach matter too.

Thanks for the info! It turns out I missed a fair few historical canon characters, which have now been added into the tree. Also Gerold being Leyton's brother rather than uncle is a mistake which I have also fixed.

I am a little surprised that Margaery Tyrell is with red hair. I allways thought the Tyrells were of brown hair.

A wiki of ice and fire says the same: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Margaery_Tyrell

found probable typo in buildings.txt
Code: Select all
ca_asoiaf_reach_basevalue_6 = {
      potential = {
         kingdom = {
            title = k_reach
         }
      }
      trigger = { always = no }
      upgrades_from = ca_asoiaf_reach_basevalue_5
      build_cost = 2000
      build_time = 730
      light_infantry = 450
      heavy_infantry = 1125
      light_cavalry = 210
      knights = 27
      ai_creation_factor = 0
      tax_income = 2.8
      fort_level = 1
      garrison_size = 3.8
   }

i suppose that garrison_size should be 0.38
