If you want to avoid certain A Dance with Dragons spoilers in pre-AFFC scenarios install the following sub-mod:DOWNLOAD

The installation procedure for the mod has changed! The mod files must now be copied to the /mod subfolder in the same Paradox/Crusader Kings II folder as your saved games. Windows users have been provided with an installer that performs this function automatically, while Mac users can find detailed installation instructions here.

In a land where summers last for years and winters last for decades, nine great families struggle for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Take control of a noble house, from the Starks of Winterfell to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, and win the Iron Throne!

But remember, winter is coming.

Patch 0.6 Notes
Dragons and Dothraki are the highlights of this update. The Dothraki Sea is no longer inactive, Dothraki Khals now being fully playable. They work quite differently from other characters, so reading the manual entry on them is advised! Also the CTD problems should be mostly fixed now.

- Dothraki now fully playable- please see manual for details
- Dragons are now characters rather than traits. Most events and decisions reworked to reflect this. other Dragon changes include:
- Unlanded Dragon Riders can now can on duchy adventures
- Dragon riders can now choose sides in mega wars like small Lords
- Revamped dragon duels, there can now be multiple dragons on each side and they are also more deadly

Important Note:
- If you are wondering about the question mark flags everywhere, there are currently no flags for many areas.

Events, jobs, plots and decisions:
- Added an ambition to 'Expand realm by Conquest', possibly giving an indepedent ruler with no special invasion CBs a chance to launch a once in a lifetime invasion
- Removed expand demesne size ambitions
- Passing through the Sorrows now carries a chance of contracting Greyscale
- If an Andal Lord assimilates to a local Northman culture they will now change to Half Southrons
- Added more events for the Dance of the Dragons scenario
- Added events for Westfords and dog companions to the skinchanger events
- Added some more flavour to the Old Races events
- It is now possible to make an offer for a partiular slave by personal interaction
- The rescue prisoner plot can now be used for slaves
- Pirate, Free Cities and Qartheen characters can now take concubines
- Tyroshi and Lysene patricians who meet certain requirements will now get the option to adopt the pirate religion, will cause an opinion malus with fellow non-pirate patricians and family members

Character/Database setup (WARNING, SPOILERS AHEAD):
- Reworked the Qarth province set up so that the Pureborn families have duke tier titles
- Moved Gendel and Gorne's time as KBtW back to the accurate time
- Set Syrio Forel's death as personal combat with Meryn Trant
- Bloodraven is no longer a Knight, (stops him from immediatley joining the Kingsguard)
- Gave Aemon (the Maester) a Maester education trait, when he becomes one, instead of the fortune builder trait.
- Shireen is no longer congenitally ugly
- Made the Lake of Myrth province feudal
- Added characters to the empty provinces in Qarth
- Added Martell lineage from Nymeria/Mors to Mariya Martell. Updated title history to suit. Including K_Rhoynar.
- Added Garin the Great as Nymeria's father, plus extra members of the 'Nymerios' dynasty for flavour.
(Basically she has a brother and uncles that all 'die' in battle. Symbolising the fact most of the men died against Valyria)
- Added another daughter for Daenerys Targaryen (the first) and Maron Martell, who in turn has been married in to the Toland's
- Added extra Arryn cousins to the Conquest start, (the ones who'll eventually kill the reigning Lord Arryn and get killed in turn by Maegor.)
- Changed Arryn title history to match that time in history.
- Added two extra daughters to Rhaenys and Aegon as it's stated along with Aenys they had two to three extra children. An elder daughter (already in) and two younger daughters.
- Gave Ronnel Arryn (the conquest start King of the Vale) a Targaryen bride, as Lord Beesbury argues that Rhaenyra has more Targaryen blood than Aegon II.
- Updated House Strong during the Dance of Dragons to reflect new info from the new novel
- Added children for the Great Jon
- Fixed Reek's history
- updated Pod's Payne ancestry
- Added wives/mothers to the Braavosi patrician families
- Fixed some Essos dynasties that didn't have heirs in the later start dates
- Added history for the Temple of the Lord of Light/R'hllor High Priest
- Link characters added to the Gardeners, Goodbrothers, Greyjoys and Lannisters.
- Added feudal vassals to the Volantene Disputed Lands provinces
- Added characters to the empty provinces in New Ghis
- Added dna for Syrio Forel
- Jon is now friends with Sam
- Sigorn Thenn and Alys Karstark now married in AFFC bookmark, Alys has claim on Karhold
- Added marriages between Gerrick Kingsblood's daughters and Axell Florent, Brus Buckler and Maelgorm of Redpool in AFFC bookmark
- Added playable feudal vassals to spare provinces in Pentos,Myr,Norvos,Qohor,Lorath and Braavos
- Added Sulleham Saan to the new Saan dynasty in the Stepstones for the Conquest of Dorne bookmark, (renamed Sulleham and Salladhor characters from old Lys Saan dynasty)
- Salladhor Saan is now a pirate in the Stepstones rather than a noble in Lys. He is also now allied with Stannis.
- Fixed death date of Tygett Lannister. He now dies in 286AL rather than 284AL (he died after 285AL, so he's gotten an extra year.)
- Gave Edmure a boost in diplomacy (with extra traits he's now at 16) as well as the family person and trusting trait.
- Also changed his DNA, he's less flabby now.
- Changed Oberyn Martell's DNA, he's now lost the Spanish Professor Weeto look.


Balance:
- Made the requirements to use the ironborn invasion more strict
- The Lannister and Stark armies are no longer pre-raised in ACoK because of the AI disbanding them. Also removed the Stafford Lannister host.
- Added an event that checks the AI's targaryen divine blood betrothals and removes them if they are silly
- Once a letter has been issued to the realm questioning someones legitimacy that person can no longer be targeted again with the plot
- After being emancipated a ruler must now wait 10 years before trying to legalise slavery again
- If the claim of an independent ruler is pressed on a title they should stay independent after the claim has been successfully won
- Meereen under Dany now uses seniority succession, this stops it passing to Baratheons/Lannisters if she dies
- The Warlock priest event is now rarer and cannot trigger for Westerosi rulers
- If the target dies during a war to overthrow a ruler the war now ends inconclusively
- To form a faction effecting a particular title, a character must now either have it as their crown law title or have land in the title (Stops Riverlords in Harren's realm making factions for Iron Isles laws for example)

Graphics and portraits:
- Random coats of arms overhauled. 800+ textured frames added, whilst emblems and divisions have been removed (for now).
- Added clothes for High Valyrians by hibludij
- Added enoofu's improved Essos deserts
- Added some flavour to the Asshai portraits
- Dynasty CoA-s: Updated Baelish stone head (Vale)
- Added some more flavour to the Free Cities portraits
- Fixed red/black hair colour not appearing for Ghiscari males
- Added some new flags for Rhoyne region
- Re-implemented the Naathi portrait style without any DLC features
- Dynasty CoA-s: Updated Whythers, Pommingham (Reach), replaced 3D frog for Vypren and fixed color hue on MUdd (Riverlands)
- Realm CoA-s: Added Ghiscari Empire, Old Ghis Duchy, New Ghis Duchy, New Ghis Kingdom, Rhoynar Kingdom, new Stormlands CoA implemented

Misc:
- Changed Yi Ti and Leng prefix from "Ancient City of" to "Kingdom of"
- Dragon pit can now be built in city holdings
- Barrowton is no longer a holy site for R'hllor
- The Riverlander culture has been renamed to Riverman
- Pressing a male person's claim on a kingdom may now result in the 'Kingmaker' nickname
- Added a catch all dynasty for lowborn High Septons
- Spare holding slots are now usable throughout the Summer Islands and the Free Cities
- Lowborns now have merely have a blank space for a dynasty name

Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug allowing the Suspected Bastard opinion modifier to stack
- Fixed issue with base value buildings not working for Leng
- the Faith Militant will only now be restored if a character's primary title has medium Faith Authority enacted
- fixed peasant First Night problem where bastard could have both bastard and legit bastard trait
- Characters with an unlanded title can no longer join the Kingsguard
- Fixed problem wehre you couldn't fabricate claims on a province where you held a barony
- Fixed Cadet event localisation not showing actual dynasty names
- Added relevant events for the Frey cadet dynasties
- Fixed problem where the wildling horde invasion would sometimes not trigger correctly
- Lowborns should no no longer become kinslayers for killing other lowborns
- The dejure Crownlands should now be properly established if starting in the middle of Aegon's Conquest
- Fixed Asshai dragon intel not effecting the hatching event
- Fixed localisation for Lolliston, Piper and Brune dynastic nicknames
- Fixed strange dual slavery law problem if Maelys wins the Ninepenny Kings war
- The become independent ambition will no longer succeed if merely split in a mega war
- Fixed problem where AI would never change crown authority or succession laws
- Fixed problem where if a salt wife was taken after a siege, the abductor would dislike the abudctee for being abducted
- Fixed problem where if your slave is freed you would divorce your wife
- Fixed some topology errors
- Fixed Smoking Sea event firing for wrong province because of extra provinces added
- Made the castle the county capital for Vaes Tolorro so that Dany will be selectable in aCoK

Edit: I assume at least, I have not actually tried, but any update that adds new characters and titles tends to break saves.
I now have a signature. Hurray.
Here is a link to my personal list of FAQs. Please check there to see if it answers you question. (It is not very extensive right now, but once exam season is over expect some big updates)

Give it ago, but I reckon it will be broken, sorry. :(
I lose one of my rather nice Lannister saves as well, along with all my Stark saves, so I know the feeling.
But the stuff added by this patch is really cool, and (hopefully) less CTDs, so it should be fun.
I now have a signature. Hurray.

I tend to play different games when testing and not testing.
Testing games focus mainly on Essos and Dragons, fun games play other roles.

Was the CoA bug fixed? If not I will add the manual fix below once I have found out/checked

My personal fix which doesn't seem to affect anything is to delete the emblems.dds

Not the file but the images in the file

While the Dothraki mechanics got explained in the manual, what about dragons? Where is their manual? And is there any way to "ignore" Dannys line of events A Clash of Kings scenario? I want to from New Valyria with her, not some stupid liberated slave empire.

Apologies for the Coat of Arms problem. I'd added the fixed version of emblem.dds after this latest build had already been packed to go. And then proceeded to get blind drunk instead of answering Knuckey's questions. We'll get it fixed ASAP, I promise.
