One more thing, just something I was wondering. How come the year is 8000 whatever it is and not 282? Sorry if this has been explained before, but it kind of bugs me. :-\

Date is an unsigned integer, so you can't have negative dates for people born before Aegon's Landing. Like Aegon, for instance.

Is there a plan to make the Wildlings or White Walkers as an invading force for a later release? That would be pretty awesome.

We should talk to Paradox about not being able to turn off marriages. What if one of my allies stupidly marries a Kingsguard?

Yes, there are plans. Not sure about the others... unless we think of some unique way to simulate them.

...and go ahead ask in the Plaza forum for stuff. I asked a few questions and almost got banned for it.
Wish you the best of luck.

So mine clearly says it sees it, yet when I load the game itself; I stll get only the vanilla version. I've seen several people post about the same issue but no screen shots for independent verification. I hope this helps in identifying the culprit of the problem. I really want to play and I did everything these 14 pages said to do, and the game clearly sees the mod.

I noticed someone else was having this problem, but they didn't get an answer. But I downloaded the main game from Steam on my Mac, but then when there is no "mod" folder. I have searched everywhere, and none exists on my entire computer. I have also looked for the "steamaps" folder as well, and that doesn't exist...does anyone have any suggestions? Can I just create a folder called "mod" and extract to it? Thanks!

They may be hidden on mac, google "show hidden folders mac" and it will show all the folders. The mods folder may not have been created so you may have to create it.

Mac Users! In order to Play Game of Thrones on the Mac, you have to go to hell and back--

This link would hopefully be as useful to you as it was to me.

Abit harsh i'd say... most mac users are smart enough to figure simple compatibility issues like this, and thos who don't... that's the price they pay for being hipsters :ugeek: .

The sourceforge download link won't work for me. Is there an alternate link or direct download?

Have you tried getting it to work on a Mac? What makes you qualified to say this is a "simple compatability issue" when you've not chimed in once on how to solve this simple problem? Oh, wait, your solution (as stated on that thread) is to buy a PC. Way to be helpful. You may think I'm a hipster for owning a Mac, but I know you're a jerk by your behavior.

Oga is a bit extrem when it comes to what he dislikes. Don't pay too much attention to him in this specific case.

About the Mac compatibility and the .mod file, The error has been send on the PI forum and went up to the beta/dev forum.
I hope something can be done to have current version working on Mac as well with a PI patch.

In the mean time, either try things on your own or follow what other Mac users say was working.
As far as I know, we don't have any Mac user in the mod team thus we can't put someone on it to find a solution.

Not chipped in?
Well;
1. Im not obliged to provide you with any kind of technical support, its not like im getting payed.
2. I did chip in, and i think my 2nd suggestion was the actual solution, only i didn't know the right directories. Since i don't try to game on mac.
3. Buying a PC if you lack to know-how to support incompatibility issues (that will pop up more often then you think) would solve you a great deal of pain. And i stand by my advice.
4. Those people (who lack the know-how) i call hipsters, a mac is a powerful & useful tool.

And you are just pissed at me and call me names, because you know i am right.
An apology would be welcome.

Oga, please go on some stress relief journey, you really need some holidays!

And Oddy, please don't insult people. There is in the treat he linked you the solution some found to your problem. If what they did doesn't help you I fear we can't help you on this. Maybe some Mac user could do it better.

Funny you say that, im on quite a long holiday... it seems you just have problems with people being opinionated.

Oh, and i do like how you tell ppl to ignore me or move my posts (plaza incident).
Please continue.
(Sarcasm, i don't. Just to be clear.)

It seems you can only see the "wrong" in other ppl, and cant view your own actions with objective reflection.
Maybe considering ppl who don't have the same opinion like you are actually allowed to express them? Shocking i know, and on the internet of all places?!
How about a nothing where people do things differently? And it is not because they have some kind of anger-management issues?

:D
:? I had nothing to do with the plaza incident... I have no clue which mod did it but not me.
Other than that, I love to tell people to ignore other people, because 99.9% of people on internet are trolls! I'm in the 0.1% ofc

I had a nasty response here and deleted it because it made me feel like an ass - And then found out you actually were right. It was a directory issue based on the way Steam installed ck2 on my Mac. So, for providing help on that thread, thank you. That obviously makes the jerk comment out of line. So sorry for that.

We can't all have the computer we choose - I'd love a Doghouse Systems custom as a Steambox screaming gaming excellence into my eyeholes. Unfortunately, the computer I have on my desk is a fairly capable 2010 iMac hand-me-down, and my current financial situation (divorce) prevents me from spending money on a PC solution. I was ecstatic that this game came out for Mac and bought it the first week for full price, happy that an interesting game was being supported on Mac and I was willing to purchase it as a life-long video game consumer. I just wanted some help to get this obviously AWESOME mod to run for me, in my current situation, which I can't do much about. I didn't appreciate being categorized as a person or written off because of the fact I own a Mac. So I'm sorry for name calling, but try to remember that you should never blindly believe what you think about people.

Now I'm going to go play this thing.
