Cabeza, adding the valyrian_steel trait to Jorah Mormont, I noted he has the excomunicated trait. What are we going to do with all them?

I say either remove them, or add a trait "criminal"/"outlaw".

Not sure if Walder Frey still has it, in his case i feel its extremely unappropriated. It was supposed to represent his status as "the late Walder Frey". But since we are before the rebellion...

Code: Select all

               any_demesne_province = {

                  }
               }
            }
         }

If we wanted the capital to be the inside the duchy instead, we'd just use capital_scope instead of any_demesne_province.

Thats pretty much what I had in mind, Ive done a similar thing for Wales and Brittany in vanilla. I think we should implement this for all duchies.

We could take it even further and say you need the permission of your Lord Paramount to create a duchy, making it dependant on relations and other stuff. I think this would add some nice flavour.

Some issues that I noticed during multiple test games. The Rebellion usually failed because of the north.
- Ned has too many duchies, skagos should probably be owned by some skagosi house
- White harbor rebels because of culture differences. I had a whole 6K+ rebel stack with 1500 cav.
that's not only a north problem, so I propose removing the rebels completely until we come up with modified rebel events that fit westeros.
- during a test game Benjen took over the North while Ned kept the duchy of winterfell = auto rebellion win for the north only.
- Troop numbers are ~ 15K while they should be ~30K

Im sure you noticed most of those bugs Cab, but I wrote this in case you missed one.
Coding, Events, Riverland Content, Bugfixing, Balancing, misc. Graphics, Household Guard, Personal Interaction, Faceless Men, Dragons.

Shouldn't Jeor still be Lord of Bear Island and have the Valyrian sword since the mod takes place before Robert's Rebellion and before Mormont joined the Night's Watch?

Will only the major lords of the North (Karstark, Bolton, Manderly, Umber, Reed) be dukes? I think it would be better to limit the number of duchies held by each lord paramount and give the Duchy of Skagos, for example, to a Skagosi house (House Magnar seems as if they're the most powerful of the three).

Lol, i just tackled this Jeor/Jora problem.

It seems Jeors father lived forever... and unlike the Freys Jeor, upon inheritance decided to go to the night-watch and leave the bear island to his son Jorah.
Jorah's life in a nutshell; Born --> married a Glover who miscarried 3 times, (10y of marriage) --> A Greyjoy rebellion, Knighted --> Tourney Knight, got married to a greedy whore --> Sold some slaves --> Exiled.
Now the rebelion was in 8289.
So he is still supposed to be married to a Glover, and the unknighted ruler of the bear island... still having the sword...

I will modify the files shortly, as it seems i made a mistake, and made him an unhappily married knight... :/

Oh, okay. I always thought that Jeor gave up the lordship after the Greyjoy Rebellion and when Jorah married Lynesse Hightower but you're right.

Is there a reason why i can't build a castle, city or sept in the last building slot in winterfell and in general in northern provinces? Bug? Wintermechanic?

Hey, shouldn't Moat Cailin have a bonus for defenders? After all, it is a very defensible position and it has been that way for a very long time. Seems weird for it not to grant any form of bonus to defenders.

I was browsing through the North history file today and noticed Ramsay Snow gains Impaler twice, once at 6 and again at 16. Not sure if that would screw anything up, as I haven't gotten that far ingame yet, but just letting you know.

It's because the coding for the province, found in Game of Thrones/History/Provinces, has the max number of holdings on it. This doesn't always match the vanilla version of provinces, so thus the black slot occurs. I wouldn't suggest changing the number of provinces as it messes with the balance of the game, especially if u give all provinces of for instance the north 7 provinces. Just leave it. There is only a few provinces with 7 holdings; kings landing, white harbour off the top of my head.

hope that helps

Just noticed by the way that the Dreadfort in 0.1.1. still has the 'gavelkind' setting for succession laws, instead of 'primogeniture', as most of the other parts of the Seven Kingdoms have..

I've noticed that Rickard's father (Neds grandfather.) is a named Lord of Winterfell called Edwyle on westeros wiki. His sister was the one that married the cadet Royce's, connecting these familial lines would be great I think. It's already do-able with Martells (Just add a father for Mariah and Maron. Making Olyvar, Maron's son would create the Targ-Mart Connection. I know, I know this should be in the 'Dorne' bit.)

Edwyle's father could perhaps be Beron Stark (the Lord of Winterfell in Aerys I's time.) There was a succession crisis apparently then with lots of Starks dying in it if Beron were to be his father and Artos the Implaceable were to be his father it'd make sense what with the story of Raymun Redbread and the death of Willam Stark, which Jon Snow remembers.

It'd give the Starks a good line of lineage plus its historical flavour! (which I love to be honest! The Targ family tree is brilliant.)

The timeline of the events and the Lords of the time fit also. So its quite possible that the Stark line is this:

Became Lord after Brothers death in 184AL - Artos (2nd son after his Brother Willam who Raymun killed, early 20's perhaps, not married yet. Artos may have died in the Skaogosi Rebellion, followed by...)

Lord at around 213AL - Beron (...Artos son who died from the Ironborn raids of Dagon Greyjoy. Creating a...)

Born between 200-210AL? - Edwyle & sister that married into the Royces. (...Succession crisis. Edwyle is named Lord of Winterfell, all his cousins, uncles etc take the Black or eventually do so. Hence there being no new cadet Branches or other Starks around except the main line. I believe this is the reason the Starks have so few immediate relatives. Brothers of currently seating Lords with sons of their own go to the Wall. Or if a Lord has more than two sons, every son after the second goes to the wall, or one at least goes (must go? hmmm.) This may have been what Rickon had in store if things had gone the Starks way.)

Born about 230-235AL- Rickard (Making Rickard between 25-30 when Brandon is born in 261AL.)

Eddard
Robb
....? Rickon :P

Just some extra info to add. :)

Aye, so THAT's why, eh?

Still annoying... all I wanted was a Godswood in Deepdown... now I'll have to take thirty seconds out of my life to add into the files myself (along with ones for the rest of Skagos. Hey, at the moment the "church" structures are nearly useless anyways, somehow doubt the tiny amount of troops it gives would be gamebreaking for someone who actually spends 600 gold on such a silly endeavor).

actually, its because the last holding isnt specified in the landed_titles.txt file. Its quite simple just to add it in properly.

I'm aware you can do that, but I wasn't aware of WHY they'd left so many blank holdings out there. And as for balance... well, I'd like to have it as an actual option to build a Godswood in Skagos. At the moment, you'd have to be silly to do so. All three of its counties have just two actual, creatable holdings each... and in this mod, cities are infinitely more valuable than septs or godswoods, or whatever the Ironborn would actually build if they had the chance. It'd be nice in some of those places if you had a nice, big money sink for the sake of an extra vassal and a few hundred extra troops to play around with... not to mention it'll give some more randomly created noble names. Do you have any idea how many different version of "of Weirrocks" I had running around in my court of the High Lordship of Skagos?

This I agree with. I think the extra slots are from an older build and some were removed after testing to get the real troop numbers right. What I am doing in my own game is specifying 7 slots max for each province, even if I am not enabling them to be built, this way at least courtiers have more name options.

In the new scenario (can't remember name), playing as Eddard, I've noticed that Wolfswood is independent, and I cannot force them to become my vasal since they hold some of my court members there (and that it doesn't befit Eddard)
WAD or a bug?

I downloaded the released build (checksum: IABD) and I'm not encountering that. It would be a bug, but I see Wolfswood county as belonging to the Starks and Wolfswood duchy as being a vassal. Which territory are you talking about?
