Kingsguard

For anything related to the mod's development

Yeah... had a discussion about that, it initially wasnt a limitation.

But on some tests both me and cabe ended up with Aegon (Rahegar's only son & heir) on the kingsguard... got us thinking tt might be a dynasty-ender, which isnt what we want.
Plus as a player, you cant refuse your son joining... and as much as i want to "stick it to the player", game-play-wise its a "dick move". IMHO.

Besides isn't Jaime Lannister the only heir that's part of the kingsguard?

Perhaps there should be special circumstances for such dick moves. Aerys did it specifically to piss off Tywin, if I recall correctly.

Is it possible to make the kingsguard similar to the council? Only the Iron Throne could appoint them. Perhaps events can select them as well, sort of like the events that point out characters who might make a better steward. It would simplify things.

What if it's the potential Kingsguard character's family (liege) that requests the position through a desicion, which the AI would almost always accept.

It has nothing to do with how its being asked, the council cannot be changed in that way.

Any changes to it will be global, so you will have a 7 kingsguard council everywhere (dorn, wall & essos) and instead of the current one (marshal/steward/spymaster/ect...).

Under the current system can you have members of the Kingsguard as part of the Council? As in Barriston Selmy is the Marshal for example.

Arent you a tester?

The answer is y & n.
Nothing prohibits them from being on the council, except they are direct vassals of the lord commander and can only be on his.

Except for the Lord Commander himself, who can be in the King's council by virtue of being his direct vassal, and in fact is often the marshall (which I think fits nicely).

I have yet to get the mod to work, i've tried everything i could could think of and it still didn't work. Posted the problem but no solution was offered that i hadn't tried or i tried subsequently and they didn't work either  I wish i could test it but it seems it just doesn't want to work for me. I'll try the 0.04 when i get a chance, i hope that will work.

There is an event where if you have a son who is craven you can demand they take or black or die in an 'accident'. He probably chose that option and his heir refused, which means you can then kill him.

You can also send people to the wall through the banish diplo action.

That's the one i was on about :) Though there was also a great grandson that i just murdered because he was retarded (he was a vassal of another lord) and was the heir of my heir, best to keep the family tree in order.

Both in this and the base game, I'd say the probable answer is yes.

All i will say is they started it, after the eighth or ninth plot to kill me or my heir i got a bit... reactionary. The main problem was my first lord lasted so long that there were great and even great-great grandchildren and he had seven kids, four males and there was a disturbing propensity for twins in the family. So many plots of murder aimed at me.
