Hey, I'm having some trouble. I'm playing Aegon's conquest, and everything works fine in that regard. I just think that the added haircolors messed up the inheritance. All of Ory's son's have red hair. Is there a way to fix that?
I checked in the character creator and here the dna would lead to red hair as well.

Out of curiosity, is Armours and Weapons v0.5.0.1 [SUBMOD] by kuczaja still compatible with this and in general with vanilla AGOT? I was thinking of maybe trying to update it in my spare time over my mid-semester break and thought I might see about requesting some assistance from you Lance :)
Check out my little CoA mod, http://citadel.prophpbb.com/topic5678.html "Targayen Cadet CoA Remake and More!" Enjoy the Dragons!

@Arithra: What are you talking about? I only added hair colors to High Valyrians. Orys is not high valyrian.

@isa0005: I have no idea whatsoever lol. I've only ever looked at it's graphic files.

@FaroeRSH: I was just able to claim it with no problems. Your character has bad traits that don't allow it OR it is currently alive.

Ah, okay I think I found the problem, it has nothing to do with your mod I think. Orys is westerosi-valyrian, and in the character creator there are 11 hair colors for them not seven like with the stormlanders. So I guess that's what causes this problem with the children.
Is there a way to fix that? colors 7,8,9,10 (I think) are all white...

I always just change him to stormlander culture to avoid this issue. Open the console and type culture 1317 stormlander and his children won't be born with Valyrian hair colors. This is probably the most simple method

That isn't what that console command does stale :p That just changes his culture. The thing you're looking for is graphical culture.

@LancelotLoire I know you have to have certain traits to get Dawn, but the decision to get Dawn on the intrigue screen is not appearing at all for me when using this mod.

Really? It must be confirmation bias then but he's never had any white-haired kids since I started doing that. :P

@FaroeRSH: And with Century both ON and OFF. I was fully capable of claiming dawn. So dunno what I can tell ya.

@stale: Yeah a character has two "cultures" for their character, "Culture" and "Graphical Culture". A characters hair color/skin color/racial makeup is determined by what their graphical culture is. I think this submod used events to cause it? But I could be mistake, never looked at the innards of his files.

A characters clothing/headgear and children names are determined by their culture.

The following is a brief instruction on how to borrow the portrait stuff only to use with other submods if you don't like the traits or anything.

Spoiler: show
Delete everything but the following things...

common/cultures/ <<<<THIS IS A FOLDER
gfx/characters/ <<<<THIS IS A FOLDER
interface/portraits/ <<<<THIS IS A FOLDER
interface/portrait_properties.txt <<<<THIS IS A FILE
interface/portrait_summer.gfx <<<<THIS IS A FILE

and as an added note, they must remain in the exact locations they are to work.

I have installed the mod and want to just use the portraits; not tested it out yet but just wanna point out that in my version of the mod the portrait_properties.txt IS NOT located in the interfacte folder, but in another subfolder. It may have been a change during the versions, hope it won't matter to the mod's functioning itself.

Yeah, vanilla keeps trying to do my head in and change where files are located at! But yeah it's the same file, just in it's own subfolder now haha. Those instructions should work (Albeit I've never tested it)

Hi!
I already wrote here about the limited choice of hairstyles in the game itself, most likely the problem is not solved. Is it possible to replace some old ones with new Attiris hairstyles? IMHO these hairstyles are more authentic. In the game, only one of the four new hairstyles is available, the other three need to be swapped with the marked ones.

@Kinvara: Didn't see this post haha! Anyways, I'd kinda rather not go about tweaking the graphic files like that at the moment just based off of the amount of time that would need to go into it.

Here is a quick breakdown of save editing...

dna="cjafhjgbgbh"
prp="aq0dca00000000"

Hair is defined under properties (prp) as p1 which is the 2nd. The above example, p1 is the 2nd character. aQ0dca00000000

Q I believe is the first underlined hairstyle (First of the Attiris styles). R (second) V (third) are the other two (I believe). If that isn't the case, playing around with that one should net the desired results :)

Hey I'm having an issue with this mod that I can't seem to troubleshoot. I'm running this on the previous version, 1.4.1 and the game seems to crash VERY frequently with the mod installed. I'm only running More Decisions, Bloodlines and Colonize Valyria along with it. I've reinstalled my mods twice and each time the game will either:

A: Crash within six months of starting a game continuously.
B: Play just fine for about 20 years whereupon the game will continuously crash that a specific date forever.

I love the mod but I just can't figure it out. I've seen others run the mod just fine so I wonder what the issue is. It's a hard crash too. No notification that Crusader Kings 2 has crashed. The music will stutter and I'm back to the desktop. It's like it's crashing without any sign of it crashing. Is there a quick fix for this or is there a compatibility conflict or something?

Try running without More Decisions, Bloodlines and Colonize Valyria for like a 50 year run. and tell me if it repeats. It could be the anti blackninja code I put into the game that crashes the game if one of his submods is installed (I'm just kidding... or am I? )

Been trouble shooting, so far it looks like Colonize Valyria is the culprit. Though considering others say they have run it with CO just fine, I might just reinstall it later. For now at least I can play this sub-mod.

That is also pretty interesting cause I use Colonize Valyria as well (albeit heavily tweaked haha)
