Only way something could affect the congenital traits from this are if they either A) Tweaked/overwrote congenital.0 event, or B) They have an event that fires after mine and can modify traits.

Spoiler: show
Code: Select all
if = {
         limit = {
            AND = {
               father_even_if_dead = { trait = genius_2 }
               mother_even_if_dead = {
                  AND = {
                     NOT = { trait = genius_2 }
                     NOT = { trait = genius_1 }
                     NOT = { trait = genius }
                     NOT = { trait = imbecile }
                     NOT = { trait = imbecile_1 }
                     NOT = { trait = imbecile_2 }
                  }
               }
            }
         }
         random_list = {
            40 = { add_trait = genius_2 }
            55 = { add_trait = genius_1 }
            80 = { add_trait = genius }
            9800 = { }
            45 = { add_trait = imbecile }
            35 = { add_trait = imbecile_1 }
            25 = { add_trait = imbecile_2 }
         }
      }

That's just a small sample of a child that has a father with genius_2, and a mother with no genius/imbecile traits. Yes yes I know that I should update it one of these days to account for "real_father" but whatever :p

So a child with a father (genius_2) and mother (none), will have one of those outcomes take place to determine if he obtains the trait. This isn't really balanced or anything because it's kind of difficult to determine a balance/inheritance chance and the like. There is also a small chance of the reverse happening. So even if both parents are genius_2, there are a possibility of 7 traits they could pick up.

If you're ending up with a lot of negative traits I'd point out that it's most likely caused by just bad luck.

Hi, when i upgraded the mod to 1.5 i have a problem with the portraits of dragons. Some of them have the appearence of old women such as Vhagar and Meraxes. I tried disabling all other mods and it still show them like that with this mod. Before i didn't have this problem.
Great mod and sorry for the bad english.

I downloaded the new version yesterday, works fine, just make sure to delete any previous version and do a clean install, after that if the problem persists then idk.

Yes Lancelot this make sense and I do believe you that effort you have to make to balance it would be enormous for one guy. Btw yes, I was unlucky, started another game with knowledge of inheritance chances and it's so much better now, Thanks for this mod !

I was looking at some people in the world at the start of the game and I decided to search for all the giants. I noticed that off all the people that have the giant trait some get different stats from it.

Some give 1 martial and have a tall trait icon but are called giant but others have the normal giant trait icon and give 3 martial while also being called giant.

I have looked through the files but I cant really find what is going on here, maybe on oversight on your part somewhere..

I don't remember exactly how I fixed this but it was done by changing a localisation file in the main AGoT mod.

tall_2;Giant;;;;;;;;;;;;;x
tall_2_desc;This character has a gigantic stature, almost as if they have Giants blood in their heritage.;;;;;;;;;;;;;x

tall;Giant;Géant;;;Gigante;;;;;;;;;x
tall_desc;The blood of the first men is strong in this one, this character is huge!;Le sang des Premiers Hommes est fort chez ce personnage, il est gigantesque !;;;La sangre de los Primeros Hombres es fuerte en este personaje y lo hace realmente grande;;;;;;;;;x

The name/description for the trait "tall" is being overridden by vanilla, which has it listed as "giant". So the 2 cases you see are tall and tall_2. Which is why they have different stats.

Too fix the naming issue.
mod/AGOT Congenital Overhaul/localisation/0_congenital_traits.csv
change the name of that file too..
00_congenital_traits.csv

For some reason 00_ is loaded AFTER 0_.

It's odd. My mod files are all named zzzzz_spc_*.txt to ensure that they load last and overwrite everything.

Originally that used to be the case. As of last few versions "0" is last in load order and "z" is first. Pissed me off when they changed it.

I added the above fix to the Congenital Overhaul + Crowns archive.

If there's any fixes I'm missing or any problems with the modifications let me know. It should be working however as I've followed the instructions exactly, this is just a way to make it easier on newcomers.

@Berichas: That basically sounds like the submod Mixed Valyrian Ethnicities

@Widowmaker94: Once there was a submod somebody made with only the swords. As for the hair, instructions on the very first post. In big red letters "USING PORTRAITS ONLY"

Is the sub-mod compatible with the current version?
My apologies. I followed a link here that was halfway through the thread.:oops:

LancelotLoire wrote:@CLa168: You're save

Deleted all but the provincial delayed events and made it to the next year. Looks like there was a broken event somewhere causing the crash. I'm unsure which of those delayed events was causing the crash. It could just be simple file corruption (it happens unfortunately).

Hey, could you tell me how you did this? I think I was experiencing a similar crash leading up to this, but I couldn't figure out how to get around it. So I did a clean install now I'm hoping for the best. BUT, if it does happen again, I'd like to avoid having to scrap the save. So, I'm just wondering.

No. It was sort of my baby, but I haven't touched it in over a year. It shouldn't be too hard to update it to the newest version, but I may have to scrap the custom portraits.

Just giving the Dornish, Dothraki, Ghiscari, Qartheen, and so on silver-blonde hair and purple eyes isn't a problem, but modifying the graphic culture drastically (i.e., making Dornishmen into Iberians) takes much more work.

Oh? You're the one who did the sword mod as well?
