phpBB bug?

PostPosted by Kingsgrave » Mon Jun 11, 2012 00:38

Every time I click on "board index" or try to get here through my bookmarks, it takes me straight to the phpBB page.

Yeah, I get that sometimes. It's incredibly irritating isn't it?

I don't suppose you're using firefox?
I remember having similar issues while I was still on IE.

Hm, rather strage then..

I accesed this board from several different places (god bless net acess at work  ),
each time using a FF,
and it worked fine.

You don't happen to use a custom 3rd party searchbar or something similar?
Even some addons for FF have a very nasty habbit of trying to sneakily redirect your browser.

Other then that not sure what could affect your bkmark's in that way.

I've got about half-a-dozen addons dedicated solely to purging stuff like that, so no.

While I applaud your security consciousness maybe its one of those addons which prevents you accessing a particular bookmark by deleting a cookie associated with it..

Its a long shot but try making/using such bkm with IE. (atleast to make sure its not you and its indeed phpBB)

Well in the case of Macs it is probably the best browser, Safari and FF just are too unstable for some reason (i think it's OSX because they both used to be fine). I'm used to Chrome so i just use the same on my PC (i rarely browse just game). Also it transferred all my bookmarks between my machines automatically (laptop, desktop and work mac).

It's working fine now, so I think I'll pass. Never had such a problem before, so I doubt it's any of the addons. I have no intention of ever touching IE again, however.

Glad it worked out for you buddy,
(if it repeats do try tweaking your add's, when something breaks like that its almost certanly some small stupid thing everyone always overlooks)
