So I was thinking about some really song of ice and fire-y things that might be neat to see in the mod, and I thought, how about resurrecting the dead? Like, if someones recently died, have an intrigue option to summon a priest of R'hllor/some other kind of magic user to try and bring them back from the dead for a big gold and piety cost.
Of course, this being Song of Ice and Fire and not some generic kitchen sink fantasy setting, a lot of things could be done to balance or even outright discourage this. Maybe the ressurected person could have a chance to come back mad, or a twisted shadow of their former selves (Catelyn Stark style) - with all their virtue traits replaced by vice traits, or with negative stuff like cruel added, or just a irrational hate (/low approval) of everyone. Or they could come back come back completely infirm and incapable. Or even just really ugly from being a corpse for a while.
And maybe - to be extra cruel - have a chance for the life of a close relation to them be taken in exchange, or someone of exceptional skill and value to the player.
Possibly have all of these negative effects be more likely the longer the person has been dead (As is suggested to be the case by Thoros in Storm of Swords). Or have a chance for it to just fail completely based on factors like the age of the person or the manner of their death.
It could even open the door for some intrigue events events, too, where people in your court could blackmail you with the knowledge of what happened, and if it gets out, have people in your house suffer a blow to reputation from the stigma of having a zombie around.
